Aka Høegh (Qullissat, Greenland, 1947) is a Greenlandic painter, printmaker and sculptor. She is regarded as a key figure in building a distinct Greenlandic artistic identity during the 1970s. Her work draws on legend, nature and local mythology within a nationally rooted expressionism.
Largely self-taught, she was a guest student at the Academy of Arts in Copenhagen. She worked in painting, drawing, lithography and sculpture. She illustrated Knud Rasmussen's Myths and Legends and, in 1986, designed the interior of the new church in Tasiilaq.
Her best-known project is Stone and Man (1993-1994), a sculpture garden in Qaqortoq, her adopted hometown in southern Greenland. It continues to grow with new pieces added at intervals, and it began with eighteen artists from Sweden, Finland, Norway and the Faroe Islands. Her work also decorates public buildings in Greenland, including a mosaic relief outside the Workers' Folk High School in Qaqortoq. She has been married since 1976 to the photographer and film artist Ivars Silis.
