André Djaoui is a producer, director and screenwriter for film and stage, born in Tunis in 1943. Although he is best known for his work behind the camera, he also paints; he decided to start a new life in Israel as an artist in 2008.

In film, he took part in productions from several countries, among them Just Jaeckin's Lady Chatterley's Lover (1981) and Margarethe von Trotta's Trois sœurs (1987). In 1992 he co-produced with several European and Japanese broadcasters a series of seven television portraits of scientists, writers, artists, politicians and philosophers, directed by filmmakers such as Peter Greenaway, Lina Wertmüller and Alain Resnais. In 1994 he produced King David, a Broadway musical with lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Alan Menken, inspired by the Bible.

As a painter, his work was exhibited in Tel Aviv in 2009 and has been present in Miami since 2015. The sources available offer little detail about his painting style, so his contribution as an artist remains poorly documented.
