His career began in 1991, when he became the artist and designer for Alarum, a small independent magazine, and held his first solo exhibition in Perth that same year. In 1993 he signed with Fleetway Publications, where he drew the character Judge Dredd. He then moved into the American market, working for Marvel Comics on Ghost Rider 2099 and for DC Comics on The Invisibles.

Later he worked for Image on graphic novels and covers for the various Spawn properties created by Todd McFarlane, and he collaborated with IDW Publishing. He also took part in Metal Gear Solid projects with Hideo Kojima and in film and television projects such as World War Robot and Lore.

His legacy lies mainly in comics and in the design of collectible art toys, with series such as Popbot and World War Robot.
