Fransiskus Xaverius Basuki Abdullah, born Muhammad Basuki Abdullah (Indonesia, 1915 – Jakarta, 1993), was an Indonesian painter known for his realist style. He converted from Islam to Roman Catholicism, and his work has been exhibited at the Indonesian National Gallery.
He received formal training in The Hague. During the Japanese occupation of the Dutch East Indies he worked as an art teacher. After the war he gained international recognition by winning an art contest held on the occasion of the accession of Queen Juliana in the Netherlands.
His standing in Indonesia gave him the opportunity to paint the official portrait of President Suharto. He was beaten to death by three assailants during a break-in at his Jakarta home.
