Eddie Applegate (Edward Robert Applegate; Wyncote, Pennsylvania, 1935 – Los Angeles, 2016) was an American actor best known for his television work in the 1960s, above all for playing Richard Harrison, Patty Lane's boyfriend on The Patty Duke Show. After his television career faded, he turned more seriously to painting, a hobby he had taken up to relax while working regularly on television series.

His career began at the Bucks County Playhouse in New Hope, Pennsylvania, and for more than eight seasons he worked in stock theater on the East Coast, in both winter and summer. He also played Hugo Peabody in the national touring production of Bye Bye Birdie. His film debut came in A Ticklish Affair (1963). On television he played Richard Harrison on The Patty Duke Show, broadcast by ABC from 1963 to 1966, and had supporting roles on The Lucy Show and Nancy, along with single-episode appearances on Daktari and Gunsmoke.

Later he pursued painting more seriously, describing himself as a painter working between Realism and Impressionism. He was an active member of the San Fernando Valley Art Club, where he served as vice president. He is remembered mainly for his 1960s television work, though painting remained part of his life until the end.}
