Francesco Beccaruzzi (c. 1492–1562) was an Italian Renaissance painter who worked mainly around his hometown of Conegliano and in the area of Treviso. His art belongs to the Venetian sphere and shows the influence of Il Pordenone and, at a later stage, of Titian. Among his best-known works is Saint Francis Receiving the Stigmata (1545), which came from Conegliano and is now in the Gallerie dell'Accademia in Venice. He painted altarpieces for the Duomo of Conegliano, the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie in the same town, the church of Santa Giustina di San Fior di Sotto, the Duomo of Castelfranco Veneto and the parish church of Mareno di Piave, as well as a fresco in Campolongo. Much of his work remains in churches in the region, which shows how Venetian painting of the sixteenth century reached beyond the major centres.

This oil-on-panel work shows the Virgin and Child enthroned, accompanied by Saint Helena of Constantinople and, according to the title, Saint Titian. The catalogue attributes it to Francesco Beccaruzzi and dates it to 1504, though that date is hard to reconcile with what is known of the painter's career, so it should be treated with caution. As a religious image, it follows the sacra conversazione model, in which the figures share a single space without narrating a specific event. It is held at Scomigo.

It depicts Saint Francis of Assisi receiving the stigmata, a common subject in religious art that refers to the wounds of Christ which, according to tradition, appeared on the saint's body. The work is dated 1504 and is held in Conegliano Cathedral. The available information does not allow further details about its composition or commission.
