Tamara Djurovic, known as Hyuro, was an Argentine urban artist born in 1974 who died in Valencia in November 2020. She was one of the few women to make her way in muralism, a field dominated by men, and her work is known for its faceless female figures.

Born in Argentina, she settled in Spain, from where she travelled to countries such as Brazil, Mexico, the United States, Morocco and Tunisia to carry out projects. Still, most of her work was produced in Valencia, where she had lived since 2005. Her compositions are simple and deal with women, their inner world, femininity, work and isolation.

Some of her works survive, including a giant woman defending a vegetable garden with tomatoes, made in 2018 in the La Punta neighbourhood, and a crowd scene on the façade of La Base in La Marina. Many of her paintings have disappeared, but some remain visible on plots and walls of the city centre. In 2019 she took part in the Mujeres de Ciencia mural project, with a tribute to the urban planner Jane Jacobs in the El Carmen neighbourhood.

Her legacy remains above all in Valencia and in other European and American cities, where her murals continue to invite reflection on the role of women.
