Jaroslav Weigel (Rychnov nad Kněžnou, 1931 – Prague, 2019) was a Czech artist who worked as a painter, though he is remembered mainly as an actor, writer and playwright. He studied at the Faculty of Education of Charles University in Prague and, after graduating, worked as an editor for several magazines, most notably Mladý svět, from 1959 to 1969.
From 1970 he was a member of the Jára Cimrman Theatre, which became central to much of his stage career. His best-known roles are in that theatre, although he also appeared in small parts in films by his colleagues Ladislav Smoljak and Zdeněk Svěrák. In 1972 he worked with the illustrator Kája Saudek on the comics series Lips Tullian.
The sources available do not detail his work as a painter or the paintings he made, so his activity in that field can only be described in general terms. His legacy is associated mainly with stage comedy and the Jára Cimrman Theatre.
