Kain Tapper (Saarijärvi, 6 June 1930 – 17 August 2004) was a Finnish sculptor who came to epitomise the Informalist style in Finnish sculpture.

His works feel remote, as if they evoked things seen from a great distance. Even when small, they loom like menhirs, their massiveness giving them an inhuman scale. Tapper brought together nature and natural phenomena with old folklore and modernism, creating forms in which ancient imagery and contemporary language sit side by side.

A sculpture of the poet Ilmari Kianto by Tapper has been installed near Turja's Castle in Suomussalmi.
