Krystyna Dąbrowska (1906-1944) was a Polish sculptor and painter who fought as an insurgent in the Warsaw Uprising of 1944, and died during it. She trained first at the National Artistic School in Poznań, where she studied from 1925 to 1930. She then moved to Warsaw, where she worked in the studio of Tadeusz Breyer between 1933 and 1935, and later went to Rome, where she studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts from 1935 to 1938. Her work was included in the sculpture event of the art competition at the 1936 Summer Olympics. She was a member of the Polish Association of Artists, known as The Capitol. During the Second World War she joined the Armia Krajowa, the Polish Home Army. Most of her works were destroyed during the war, which makes her output difficult to reconstruct today.
