Mart Sander (born 1967) is an Estonian filmmaker, actor, writer and musician, known above all for his work in film and theatre. The sources consulted do not document a career as a painter, so this entry cannot describe any paintings or a pictorial style. He trained as a violinist and conductor and studied musicology, and he holds a doctorate in film studies from the Baltic Film and Media School, where he teaches. As a director and screenwriter he has made films such as The Kennedy Incident, which follows John F. Kennedy's visit to Tallinn in 1939, and Dr. Sander's Sleep Cure, for which he holds a Guinness World Record for playing 48 characters in a single film. He often performs his own characters in the plays he writes. With no documented link to the history of painting, his legacy lies in film, theatre and music.
