Nora Aslan (born 19 December 1937) is an Argentine visual artist and photographer whose work moves between photography, collage, installation and textile art. Born in Buenos Aires, she trained as an architect at the University of Buenos Aires, a background visible in the serial organisation of her works and in her attention to space in installations.
From the 1980s she worked in the field of textile art, producing her pieces in series. One of them, called Alfombras, was shown at the Centro Cultural Recoleta and at the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes in Buenos Aires. Her work has also appeared at biennials in several cities around the world.
Her work has earned many awards. These include the XIV Premio Klemm, the Saint Felicien Prize, the Novartis Prize, the Costantini Prize and the Agfa Award. The Konex Foundation honoured her in visual arts, in textile art in 1992 and in tapestries in 1982, and she also won the Primer Premio América 92 of the CAYC and first prizes at the municipal and national tapestry salons of Buenos Aires.
Her work is held in public and private collections, among them the Dallas Museum of Art and the mumok in Vienna.
