Olga Novo (born 1975 in Vilarmao, Puebla del Brollón, Lugo) is a Galician poet and essayist with a PhD in Galician Philology from the University of Santiago de Compostela. Writing in Galician, she has become one of the notable voices of contemporary Galician poetry, and in 2020 she received the Spanish National Poetry Prize for Feliz idade.
She first attracted attention with three collections marked by strong personal experience and erotic intensity: A teta sobre o sol (1996), Nós nus (1997) and A cousa vermella (2004), followed by Cráter (2011) and Feliz idade (2019). Alongside her poetry she works as an essayist, focusing on Galician literature and on writers close to surrealism, such as Claudio Rodríguez Fer, Uxío Novoneyra and André Breton. Her essay books include Por un vocabulario galego do sexo (1995), O lume vital de Claudio Rodríguez Fer (1999) and Erótica Medieval Galaica (2013).
She teaches Galician language and literature at the IES A Pinguela in Monforte de Lemos, after having worked as a Galician lecturer at the University of Southern Brittany in Rennes. Her work has been recognised with the Losada Diéguez Prize for Nós nus and the Ánxel Fole research prize for her study of Uxío Novoneyra. Since 2010 the cultural centre of Puebla de Brollón has borne her name.
