Pablo Rey, the artistic name of Pablo Gabino Rey Sendón, is a Spanish painter born in Barcelona in 1968. He came from a family of artists and began painting under his father, the realist painter Gabino Rey. He holds a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona and is associated with contemporary art.

His career began with prizes at the young painting competition of the Sala Parés gallery in Barcelona: the Talens prize in 1989 and the Raimon Maragall i Noble prize in 1992. In 1994 the University of Barcelona acquired one of his works for its collection. His early paintings show a neo-expressionist approach that later moved toward abstraction. In 1996 he moved to New York, where he took part in group shows and in the documentary 98 EN NY about Spanish artists in the city. The NY-TX series, based on a car trip from New York to Texas, was shown at Holland Tunnel Art Projects in 2000.

His work has been shown at venues such as the Williamsburg Art & Historical Center in Brooklyn, Lewisham Art House in London and the IX Bienal de Arte Ciudad de Oviedo. The critic Pilar Giró noted that he combines rationality and lyricism in his work. His legacy lies mainly in abstract painting within the Spanish artistic diaspora in New York.
