The Vasari Corridor is an elevated passage in Florence, Italy, linking the Palazzo Vecchio with the Palazzo Pitti and running over the Uffizi Gallery and the Ponte Vecchio. Giorgio Vasari designed it, and Cosimo I de' Medici had it built in just five months in 1565, partly tied to the wedding of his son Francesco. Within the Uffizi stretch it serves as an art gallery, displaying a collection of Medici portraits. Among the paintings gathered on the website are self-portraits by Élisabeth Vigée-Lebrun, Lavinia Fontana, Anton Raphael Mengs and Hyacinthe Rigaud, each by a different painter.
