Rijksdienst Beeldende Kunst

Netherlands · 8 works · 8 painters

The Rijksdienst Beeldende Kunst is a Dutch institution, though its city is not recorded. Pinacopedia features eight of its paintings, each by a different artist, so the character of its holdings can only be sketched in outline. Among them are Pinturicchio's The Beheading of Saint Catherine of Alexandria, Pieter Brueghel the Younger's Christ Carrying the Cross and Hendrick Goltzius's Diana and Callisto. The remaining works are by Albert Jacobsz. Cuyp, Ferdinand Bol, David Ryckaert III, Floris van Schooten and Ferdinand de Braekeleer the Elder, suggesting a mix of Italian, Flemish and Dutch traditions.
