Genki (also written Gen Ki) was a painter who lived from 1747 to 1797 and trained under Maruyama Ōkyo. He is known mainly through that link to his teacher, since the surviving information about his life and work is limited and does not allow his career to be traced in detail.

As a pupil of Ōkyo, it is reasonable to place his work within his teacher's workshop and style, although the works he produced and the movements he took part in are not known with certainty. No pupils of his are recorded.

His significance for the history of painting lies in his place within a tradition passed from master to student. Anyone studying him must rely on the context of Ōkyo's workshop rather than on a catalogue of signed works.
