Lodovico Gallina (Brescia, 1752 – 1787) was an Italian painter who worked mainly in his native Brescia, where he was born to a poor family. He first trained with Antonio Dusi, and later received the support of the patrons Luigi Chizzola and Faustino Lechi, who sent him to study at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Venice. Back in the region, he worked mostly on religious commissions for churches in the area, such as an altarpiece with Saints Ignatius of Loyola and Philip Neri for the church of Acquafredda, and a Young Jesus Disputing with the Doctors in the Temple for the church in Bedizzole. He also painted portraits, including one of Doge Paolo Renier (1779). He died in 1787, at only 34. The pastellist Anna Pasetti worked as a copyist in his studio. A painter named Gallo Gallina, active in Lombardy in the 19th century, shares his surname, but it is unclear whether the two were related.
