The Bashkir State Art Museum, popularly known as the Nesterov Museum, is located in Ufa, the capital of Bashkortostan, in Russia. It was founded in 1920 and takes its name from Mikhail Nesterov, a painter born in the city, who in 1913 gave Ufa a collection of Russian works from the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, along with about thirty of his own paintings. Its holdings range from Russian painting and ancient icons to regional art. Among the works listed on the website are Ivan Shishkin's "The path in the forest", a second untitled Shishkin, and Vasili Polenov's "Baalbek", with Shishkin as the most represented painter.
