Pisa Cathedral, dedicated to the Assumption of Mary, stands in the Piazza dei Miracoli in Pisa, Italy. This medieval church is a leading example of the Pisan Romanesque style and reflects the wealth of the maritime republic of Pisa at its height. Work began in 1063 under the architect Buscheto and blends classical, Lombard-Emilian, Byzantine and Islamic elements. The site holds three paintings in the collection: the Polyptich of Saint Agnes by Andrea del Sarto, a Madonna with child by Berlinghiero Berlinghieri, and Moses Breaking the Tablets of the Law by Beccafumi, each by a different painter.
