The Círculo del Liceo is a private club in English style, founded in 1847 and housed in the same building as the Gran Teatro del Liceo in Barcelona, although it operates as an independent association. Its Modernist interiors rank among the most important in Spain, and its rooms have long hosted social and cultural life in the city. Its painting collection centres on the twelve canvases by Ramón Casas in the La Rotonda room, among them Sardanas en la fuente de San Roque en Olot. Other works include Baile de tarde and La Sargantain, which hangs in the Gran Salón.
