Brücke Museum
Berlin, Germany · 5 works · 2 painters
The Brücke Museum stands in Berlin, Germany, and is devoted to the members of the expressionist group Die Brücke, founded in Dresden in 1905. It holds roughly 400 paintings, along with several thousand drawings, watercolours and prints, which makes it the largest collection of these artists. The building, designed by Werner Düttmann, opened in 1967, largely thanks to donations from Karl Schmidt-Rottluff and Erich Heckel. Among the painters represented here, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner stands out, with works such as Five Bathing Women at a Lake, In the cafe garden, Rückenakt mit Spiegel und Mann and Flock of sheep, alongside None by Otto Mueller.
