San Severino Marche, Italy · 5 works · 5 painters

The Pinacoteca Civica Padre Pietro Tacchi Venturi is the civic art gallery of San Severino Marche, in the Marche region of Italy. Based at Via Salimbeni 39, it mainly shows sacred paintings from earlier centuries. Founded in 1974, it was set up to house works from former local churches and monasteries. Its holdings include pieces by the brothers Lorenzo and Jacopo Salimbeni, Paolo Veneziano, and Allegretto Nuzi, whose Madonna of Humility is among the highlights, as well as a polyptych of the Madonna and saints by Vittore Crivelli. A Madonna with Child by Pinturicchio is also displayed. The collection is completed by fresco fragments from Giotto's followers, two canvases by Pomarancio, and wooden choir stalls dated 1513.
