The Yekaterinburg Museum of Fine Arts, founded in 1986, is the largest art museum in the Urals region of Russia. It stands on Voevodina Street, on the banks of the Iset River, in the city of Yekaterinburg, which was known as Sverdlovsk between 1924 and 1991. Its main building incorporates a hospital dating from 1730 that once served the local ironworks. The museum holds Russian painting from the 18th to the early 20th centuries, with canvases by Ivan Shishkin, Ivan Kramskoi and Vasily Polenov, alongside Russian avant-garde works from 1910 to 1920, including pieces by Wassily Kandinsky. It is also known for its Kasli casting collection and its naive art holdings. Among the paintings listed online are Grey Oval, Portrait of a Woman and several works by Shishkin.
