Pietro Ricchi (Lucca, 1606 – Udine, 15 August 1675), known as il Lucchese, was an Italian Baroque painter. He trained in Florence with Domenico Crespi, called Passignano, from 1620 to 1623, and then in Bologna with Guido Reni from 1624 to 1627. He probably spent two years in Rome before travelling to France to paint frescoes, and for several years he worked between Aix-en-Provence, Arles, Lyon and Paris. In 1632–33 he frescoed the rooms of the Fléchères castle, and he left France after a duel.
He then travelled widely through northern Italy and was in Milan in 1634. From 1635 to 1652 he lived in Brescia, where he produced much of his fresco and oil work and took commissions from Bergamo, Verona and Trento. There he taught Francesco Monti, il Brescianino. In 1652 he moved to Venice, where he painted Faith for the choir of Madonna dell'Orto, and from 1670 he settled in Udine, where he died. Among his works are the Last Supper in Riva del Garda, Judith and Holofernes at Buonconsiglio Castle and the Adoration of the Magi at the Indianapolis Museum of Art.*
