La fuente, Buñol is an oil on canvas by Joaquín Sorolla showing the fountain at the castle of Buñol, a town in the Valencia region. It is dated between 1890 and 1895, and today it belongs to the collection of the Museo Sorolla in Madrid. In the foreground, five women are washing clothes beside the water, in a scene of everyday life that does not revolve around any particular event. On the left, a donkey is seen from behind, and in the background on the right stands another ass. The composition shares attention between the washerwomen and the animals, while the fountain serves as the anchor of the scene. These details place the painting in the closing decades of the nineteenth century, although reliable information about its commission or early reception is not available.
