San Giorgio in Braida is a Catholic church in Verona, Italy, in the Veronetta district between the Adige river and Borgo Trento. It began in 1046, when Pietro Cadalo, a Veronese nobleman who later became an antipope, founded a Benedictine monastery under the bishop's authority. After periods of decline and recovery, the complex passed to the Congregation of San Giorgio in Alga and took on its Renaissance form. Its interior holds a notable group of Veronese paintings, among them The Martyrdom of Saint George by Paolo Veronese, dated 1564 and set in the semi-dome, alongside works by Moretto, Giovanni Francesco Caroto, Girolamo dai Libri and Paolo Farinati.
